Having first picked up a camera when she was just 13-years-old, Julie Adams is now one of Australia’s leading fashion and portraiture photographers. She studied photography in Florence and her career has taken her all over the world from Africa to Italy. Adams spent many years working in New York and London before returning to Australia with her family.
Her first assignment was for the fashion pages of The Independent (UK) and she has since worked for prestigious publications such as VOGUE, Harper’s BAZAAR, Glamour, Marie Claire and more. Adams has photographed amongst others Rebel Wilson, Joel Edgerton, Tim Minchin, Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale, Rosita Missoni, Sofia Loren, and Luca Zingaretti.
Back in 2009, Adams held her first portrait exhibition ‘The Beauty of Italian Women’, inspired by her love of Italy. Adams went on to then launch on-line magazine ‘An Affair with Italy’ whilst at the same time playing a key creative role as founding photographer on ‘The Grace Tales’.
In 2019, Adams exhibited ‘Beach Series’ - a series of work inspired by her move back to Australia and the allure of the quintessential Australian Summer. 2019 has also seen Adams co-author her first book ‘Grace Mothers - letters to our children’. Adams is currently working on her second book ‘This is Me’ launching March 3rd, 2020.
